Worship With Us Electronically This Morning

Tune in to the Christ Lutheran YouTube page to join in electronically for worship together! Stay tuned to the end to see a special message from congregation members!

This Sunday, we observe the 5th Sunday in Lent and prepare our hearts for the upcoming Palm Sunday and finally the celebration of the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

We invite you to open your Bibles and read along with us this morning.

Worship in the Home

During this time of self-quarantine and social distancing, it is more important than ever to stay connected. The Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) has many resources available to be a church together while we are apart.

Stay Connected

Please know that Christ Lutheran is indeed alive and well! As the rest of the world uses this time to slow down and self-isolate, the work of the church is ever expanding. Your church leadership and staff are hard at work to ensure the needs of both our congregation and our local community are recognized and met, whatever that may look like.

Below is a list of ways to stay engaged and connected with one another during the COVID-19 crisis.

  • Check in with friends and neighbors electronically
  • Offer to facilitate the online purchase and delivery of other household items for those not capable of doing so themselves
  • Utilize Christ Lutheran's Zoom account to hold meetings electronically. Contact Kayley Greenday or Pastor Ralph for login information
  • Support local Richmond businesses by purchasing gift cards to be used later and/or taking part in many of the local restaurant's temporary "delivery" and "take out" options
  • Support Christ Lutheran by continuing your financial commitment through our electronic giving option.

"Brothers and Sisters in Christ, every time we gather as a congregation, there is a clear spirit of family. We know that God has called us together and therefore blesses the work and worship of each of us together. This is what makes us church. And yet we know that same spirit calls to us even when we are not able to be together, and we are still God's church. As we think about how we love each other, sometimes the best answer to the question of being loving is to do what's best for each of our members. In light of the growing concern surrounding Coronavirus, your Council has made the decision to suspend (in concert with the recommendation from our Bishop) worship and all ministries at Christ Lutheran for a period of two weeks. We ask this evening that all members enter into prayer for one another and the world at large. Pray for healing, peace, comfort and direction as we seek to navigate the weeks ahead."
